Lead time: 3-5 days
Yardage required: 18” x Full width

ASTM E1353 (Cover Fabric Test)

Measures the ability of upholstery fabric to resist ignition by a smoldering cigarette when the specimen is tested in combination with polyurethane foam cushioning.

Lead time: 3-5 days
Yardage required: 18” x Full width

Drapery (Vertical)

NFPA 701: Test #1

Used to classify fabrics or other materials used in curtains, draperies, or other window treatments as well as other hanging textile items. Specimens are held vertically and subjected to a 4-inch flame for 45 seconds.

Lead time: 3-5 days
Yardage required: 1 Yd x Full width

Lead time: 3-5 days
Yardage required: 18” x Full width

CAN/ULC S109

Canadian Flammability Standard consists of two vertical flame tests: a small scale test which exposes specimens to 40mm (1.5 in) flame for 12 seconds and a large scale test which exposes specimens to a 280mm (11in) flame for 2 minutes. Rates flame spread and smoke development of interior finish building materials.

Lead time: 5-7 days
Yardage required: 4 Yd x Full width

Boston BFD IX-1

Used to classify draperies and decorative materials used within the city of Boston, MA. Specimens are subjected to a 6-inch propane torch flame for 10 seconds.

Wallcovering

ASTM E84 Adhered to GRC

Testing for applications where the material is adhered to a non-combustible substrate. Rates flame spread and smoke development of interior finish building materials. The adhered method is used when materials will be glued to a surface. GRC board simulates drywall and non-combustible surfaces, respectively. See More on ASTM E84.

Lead time: 3-4 weeks
Yardage required: 4.5 Yd x Full width

ASTM E84 Adhered to Gypsum

Testing for applications where the material is adhered to drywall. Rates flame spread and smoke development of interior finish building materials. The adhered method is used when materials will be glued to a surface. Gypsum board simulates drywall and non-combustible surfaces, respectively. See More on ASTM E84.

Lead time: 3-4 weeks
Yardage required: 4.5 Yd x Full width

ASTM E84 Unadhered

Testing of wallcoverings or panels that are wrapped and/or not adhered by direct glue application to the wall/substrate. Rates flame spread and smoke development of interior finish building materials. The unadhered method is used for materials that will not ultimately be glued to a surface.
Lead time: 3-4 weeks
Yardage required: 4.5 Yd x Full width See More on ASTM E84.
